After School Care in Okotoks – A Positive and Productive Environment
School age children are more independent and are learning society’s social manners. At this stage learning through play looks different as children begin their exploration into social norms and their individual roles in society. Crystalridge Learning Centre picks up where school leaves off. Our after school care program in Okotoks provides children the opportunity to get help with their homework and chances to play with their friends.
To help encourage the children’s development we aim to provide a program that is centred around their interests but with diversity to allow for enriched and open-ended activities; this gives school age children both the freedom and structure they need. Every child is unique and we consider every student’s individual needs. Your child will feel accepted and cared for as they enjoy learning and growing at our centre.
Things We Provide
- Transportation to and from select schools
Providing transportation via 24-passenger yellow school bus to schools in the surrounding area. For more information please contact the centre.
- Fresh meals prepared by our on-site cook daily
- Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack
- Child-sized furniture
- Daily reports (HiMama app)
Activities We Do
- Dramatic play
- i.e.: playing house; pretending to be emergency first responders, cowboys, pirates, etc.

- Arts and Crafts
- Painting, gluing, cutting paper [with safe and age-appropriate scissors], colouring, origami, construction paper
- Outdoor activities
- Parachuting, biking, chalk, blowing bubbles, hula hooping
- Enrichment programs (once a week)
- Spanish (dependent on schedule – September to June)
- Dance movement class (taught by Jumping Jellies – September to June)
- Field trips during the summer (additional costs)
